“The Impact Of Tax Reform On Charitable Giving:
Issues & Opportunities”

Many charities are worried that charitable giving will decline under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 law, while other charities are recognizing the benefits under the new law for givers at higher income and giving levels. And donors at all income and wealth levels are still learning about the new law and how it will impact them and their charitable giving. Carol Kroch, National Director of Philanthropic Giving at Wilmington Trust, will discuss the impact of the new law, including:

  • The impact of the increased standard deduction on donors who itemized before the new law change
  • The differing impact of the tax law on big and small givers
  • How donors of large gifts can take advantage of the law for income and estate tax planning
  • How donors who can no longer itemize may still make tax-efficient gifts.
